When first looking into buying a dog hammock you will probably come across a few different types, but for simplicity I put these types into two main categories. The first one would be the dog hammocks used as a type of bed and the second would be the dog hammock used in the back seat of your car.

The dog bed hammock isn’t something I’d consider useful to me although I do believe that for a small to medium-sized dog they can be extremely comfortable to lie on. For larger dogs however a dog bed hammock isn’t something I can see as being comfortable.
However there is one funky option to this and it is the eco dog hammock. This innovative product was produced by an Australian who was looking for something to do with all the old flip-flops. Ilya Fridman has used the rubber soles of these sandals to make hammock beds for dogs of all sizes. The ingenious part of these Jamboree dog beds is the collection of your dog’s hairs by the simple power of static electricity. Not only does this allow for a more cleaner and hygienic area around the dog bed but it also removes loose hairs from the dogs which keeps your pet more comfortable.
So to answer the question in the title of this post “when is a dog hammock not the dog hammock?”, for me it must be when it is a dog bed. I understand that for some other people who own these hammock beds feel they are a wonderful addition to pets sleeping arrangements, but the benefits of owning a dog hammock car seat farm roadway the benefits of owning a hammock bed for my dog.
